Description
The Buxton is an oak veneered coffin with solid oak mouldings, finished to a high gloss.
What sets it apart is that the beading is worked into the panel sides as well as the lid. A lot of coffins have detailing on the lid only. On the Buxton the fine raised lines carry around the sides too, so the whole coffin is framed rather than just the top.
It is fitted with polished brass handles on ornate scroll brackets, with a brass fitting at the lid.
Oak has an open, flowing grain that shows warmly under gloss, so each Buxton looks slightly different from the last.
